Chicken Charlie and Bonchon Chicken

Bonchon Chicken is basically Korean fried chicken with a glaze. Sort of the Korean version of Buffalo Wings from the West. So now, let’s start.

While hanging out at Bubble Tea (BT) with the usual BT group, Jackie suddenly wanted to try Chicken Charlie since it was just blocks away from us. And since I haven’t also tried their chicken specialty, I was also excited and offered to accompany her. Thanks for driving us Mako! So we went there and ordered Wings & Drumsticks Combo in Soy Garlic Sauce (Php288/ 4 drumsticks, 4 wings). It was, okay. Skin was light and crisp. Boo thought it tasted like regular chicken with Asian spices.

Now let me compare it with the newly opened Bonchon Chicken. My cousins and I had the Chicken Combo Large (Php720/ 6 drumsticks, 12 wings). Batter was a bit thicker than Chicken Charlie but I personally like the taste and appearance better, although it was lacking in glaze. I guess it depends on one’s preference. So I suggest you try both and let me know what you think!
