I had to prepare for aa cooking demo somewhere in Quezion City, and I couldn’t be with Boo for lunch. They were scheduled to eat at Torch Restaurant and Bar, it was barely a week old at that time. So after lunch, he went straight to watch my cooking demo. I was surprised after work, when I got in the car, he gave me a lunchbox filled with Torch’s Signature Peppermill Sushi Roll (Php 399.95).

He knew I hadn’t eaten lunch because I was too busy, and it was already 4 in the afternoon. So I quickly devoured the sushi rolls -- YUM!!! I loved the crispy wonton strips contrasting the soft and chewy Japanese rice. They were very generous with the filling and with the topping. To me, it seems that it is a fancier version of the regular Futomaki. What’s in it? Sushi rice, unagi, tamago, oboro, kani, ebi tempura, kanpyo, cucumber, mango(?), topped with shredded crabsticks mixed with mayo and sprinkled with seasoned sesame seeds. (I can’t remember the exact ingredients because it was too long ago! -- last year!) Time to visit Torch again for the main entrées.
Thanks Boo!
